As far as the frequency converter which is indispensable for equipment control and speed regulation is concerned, the natural heat dissipation mode is generally selected for the low-power frequency converter, and its use environment shall be well ventilated and free of dust and floating objects.
The application objects of this kind of frequency converter are mostly household air-conditioning, CNC machine tools and so on. The power is very small and the use environment is relatively good. However, a large number of existing researches and practices show that the failure rate of the frequency converter will increase with the increase of temperature, the service life will decrease with the increase of temperature, and the service life of the frequency converter will be halved when the ambient temperature rises by 10 ℃.
The heating of frequency converter is caused by internal loss. The main circuit accounts for 98% and the control circuit accounts for 2% in the loss of each part of the frequency converter. In order to ensure the normal and reliable operation of the frequency converter, we usually use fans to cool the frequency converter; the internal fan of the frequency converter can take away the internal heat of the frequency converter box.
The high-power frequency converter also needs to add fans to the control cabinet. The air duct of the control cabinet should be designed reasonably. All air inlets should be equipped with dust screens to ensure smooth ventilation, avoid vortex formation in the cabinet, and form dust accumulation in a fixed position. The matching fans should be selected according to the ventilation volume in the frequency converter manual, and the installation of fans should pay attention to the shockproof problem.
Be careful:
1. The frequency converter heating mentioned above refers to the loss of normal operation of the frequency converter within the rated range. When the frequency converter has abnormal operation (such as over-current, over-voltage, overload, etc.), the loss must be avoided by normal selection.
2. In order to ensure the normal operation of the frequency converter below the allowable temperature, the cooling fan works continuously. The life of the cooling fan is limited by the bearing, about 30000 ~ 60000h. When the frequency converter operates continuously, the fan or bearing shall be replaced after several years. The replacement period of the cooling fan is greatly affected by the surrounding temperature. When abnormal sound and vibration are found during the inspection, the cooling fan must be replaced immediately.
